For enhanced people counter analysis of sales conversion ratios, visitor numbers, live occupancy, client dwell times, etc. our Overhead 3D People Counter solution can identify employees and exclude them from the footfall traffic counts. The onboard Artificial Intelligence (AI) detects staff wearing specially designed name tags without having to use additional computers or devices.
This results in more accurate customer counts, sales conversion ratios and live occupancy dashboards that don't require manual adjustments to exclude staff from the counts.
How It Works
- Ensure the Overhead 3D People Counter sensor is installed at the recommended mounting height (3.0 to 3.5 metres for model PC2S) with suitable lighting levels
- Create Staff Exclusion tags for staff to wear (refer below specifications)
- Enable the optional Staff Exclusion plugin on the 3D sensor and configure the detection area to check either the left or right of the frontal upper torso of a person for the staff tag
Staff Tag Specifications
Height, width and shape:
- The pattern cannot be altered. It must be a rectangle.
- The height of the pattern must be between 25 – 40 mm.
- The total width of the pattern must be at least 68 mm. It can be adjusted partly, meaning the five inner colour bars (B 8 mm and C 16 mm) are predefined and the two outer bars (A) can be larger than or equal to 6mm.
- The pattern is non-symmetrical, so the correct side must be pointing up when wearing the tag.
Colour:
- The pattern must be two-coloured, and the colours must have a certain minimum contrast. The background must be lighter (three bars, colour 2) and the bars darker (four bars, colour 1). A colour contrast tool is available to verify the contrast of the desired colours.
- The order of colour 1 and colour 2 is predefined and must not be interchanged. Colour 1 always needs to be the darker of the two colours.
Material and surface:
- It is recommended the pattern to be printed on a flat tag made of a stable material (e.g. aluminium, cardboard, rigid plastic, etc.). The functional capability of the pattern on a flexible material (e.g. stitching or printing on fabric or soft plastic, etc.) has not been tested.
- The surface of the pattern must have a matt finish. Light reflection may cause problems, so do not use a glossy varnish, transparent plastic cover, etc.
